WOWWonderful cover of a great tune by a fantastic group.Totally agree with checkypig. If you read Keith RIchard's autobiography,Keith says that some famous songwriter ( can't remember who ) said that Keith was a great songwriter, which i find very hard to believe. From a 71yo Aussie fan.

i gotta read that book- and i LOVE that Chili Peppers version of Sub.Homesick Blues, but the Pie does several Beatles covers-Rain and Drive my car are particularly cool-and utterly different than the originals.fantastic.

It probably was Ron Wood since Keith Richards wanted Steve in the Stones but Jagger vetoed his choice (probably too much competition.) Ron Wood & Rod Stewart joined the remaining Small Faces when he left & they were renamed as just the Faces. It took 2 people to 'replace' Steve, something no one really could do. He was great in both the Small Faces & in Humble Pie, just different sounds to each. Actually, his solo work is wonderful also; that's how versatile he was. There will never be another.

Who cares what Keith Richards says? He couldn't hold a candle to Steve M or Steve W.

I remember reading an interview with either Ron Wood or Keith Richards, and they were discussing Steve and whichever one it was says "I never liked him in Humble Pie", saying Small Faces were better, and Steve was better with them. I've always thought that was an interesting comment. It was probably Keith, 'cause Keith says Winwood was best in the Spencer Davis Group. I find it very interesting that Keith can't appreciate Traffic

Bought the album when it came out. Very few remakes of Beatles songs interest me.This is one.

There's Steve and then there's the rest. I keep hoping one day his talent will be more widely appreciated.
