just heard it for the first time and it makes sense to me. David Gilmour said the same thing after making "dark side of the moon". That he wished he could put his headphones on and listen to it for the first time.

It makes sense, perfect sense. I first heard Zevon in '76 and followed him for a long time.In truth, about a half hour ago was the first time Ive ever heard this song..I replayed for the last 30 minutes listening and wondering how I will get my friends to listen to the best song ever written.
