"You could go either way, is it easier to stay? Wonder what you'll do when your chance rolls around"? You've got to know how much I want to keep you. But when I'm away, I'm afraid it will all fall down". Simply beautiful. Hall and Oates are outstanding singers, songwriters, and musicians.

A classic from the sadly underrated X-Static (1979) album, the first to feature G.E. Smith on guitar...

Daryl Hall and John Oates are both from Philadelphia. They both worked with the Temptations and others famous for the Philly sound. Daryl had his own group called the Temptones [for his college, Temple University]. They mimicked the smooth synchronized sound. On the other hand he does not like the 'blue-eyed soul' title. He thinks its insulting.

I remember my first Hall and Oates concert at DAR Constitutional Hall in DC. "Did It In a Minute" blew me away, as did the whole show! He came by my seat in the aisle, working his appreciation with their fans just after encores ( clearly wanting to relax and drink some water!) If these two ever reincarnate, It's John's turn to lead if he wants to!
