I'm an atheist, but this is a song with lyrics written by a truly great songwriter. To change them is one thing, but to adapt them for varying beliefs doesn't work. the line about god is truly profound and relavant to the song, and this version doesn't make any sense. @MrAdamShockley You could not be more correct - except you may have underestimated by a factor or 4 or 5, in my opinion. She has a voice, yes, but she almost ruins each and every song on Ally McBeal. Vonda is the single element of that show that I do not simply love to death. I hit 'Mute' whenever I see her face. If you're over 35 and Gilbert's version does not make your eyes completely wet then you are not properly alive.13 years ago
