gill has a great voice and does a great job on this classic, no doubt.. however, i don't know perhaps it's just me, but i think his voice is i don't know somewhat "one dimensional".. i would like to hear more range? on this song and other songs he sings?..

great cover by gill...although i still prefer the original by the beach boys... all i know is no matter who sings this song i always bawl! why is that?!...

Gill does a good job, but in my opinion the best cover/duet is with The Beach Boys and Willie Nelson, which was done for their Stars and Stripes album in 1996. It's on youtube. check it out. It's sublime.

What people seem to forget about this masterpiece, is that the lyrics really were Mike's. He realized the song & the mood was so sad, he didn't want it to end without hope & something good to come from the loss of a love so strongly felt. That's when he came up with the gorgeous ' warmth of the sun' idea. That it worked so perfectly, is a tribute to both Brian & Mike, in that November night, 11/22/63. Wolfsky9
