Fifty years ago today, Shirley walked up and asked me to dance for "lady's choice", while this song was playing. We then dated all through high school, even talked a little about "pre-engagement" before heading off to different colleges. Of course, we both met other people, lost touch, and led very different lives than we'd planned.But I have that kind of sticky little mind, when I realized today's date, I had to see if I could find this song, relive a cherished memory, and fire off a "thank you" to Shirley into the ether.
