I love her voice and it gives me goosebumps. This concert was on television yesterday and loved it, yet, best of it, this part. Anyone criticising her should first sing this aria and then ... chang their mind, I'd say.

'at lux' etc.etc.etc ......... ma non sente questa bella donna che i suoni che sta producendo /questo per me non è canto/ sono falsi?!? portamenti orrendi,canta tra le note,non è precisa... questa è una interpretazione tipo: stonatissimo con brio. voce e tecnica fuori repertorio.

Well I wish I could hear Bjorling live, unfortunately there are some logistical issues getting in the way there... Poplavskaya I have heard live, and, stage presence aside, she was very, very inconsistent. In a moment she would sound like Milanov and then she'd sound wiry and thin. But her top, at least when I heard her, was always problematic (she could do these pianissimi but they sounded dangerous). Harteros may be small (to you, I think she's gotten big), but her top blooms.

I love this piece and Anja Harteros really nails it. For me this is the best rendition of all that I have heard. I wish I could have it at my funeral with Pappano conducting his Santa Cecilia orchestra and chorus and Anja singing. But I doubt if they'll be available.

I love Meli; he was great in the Giovanna D'arco from Salzburg. Alagna would be okay in this music, but in heavier verdi he's not very good; Radames was bad. He still sounds great in French music. I don't hear the aversion to Harteros. I think she sounds fantastic. Frittoli was still wonderful about two years ago; sadly it is getting ragged now. Her Vitellia and Elisabetta at the Met were not so good. I like Serafin, but I've never heard her in Italian music, just Wagner and Strauss

I know all of them and do like them. However, I don't think there is anything boring about Netrebko, Kaufmann and Calleja, quite the contrary, they have exciting voices and in their best roles have a very expressive and thrilling way of singing. Dasch is much better at acting and vocal expression than at her voice and singing. Villazón was great in his prime, nowadays not as much. I don't think most people become acclaimed Opera stars for many years only out of PR. They do have a gift.

Really, tell us sincerely: what's your SPECIFIC problema with Harteros? We all know it is not that to you she is not that good to be so celebreated, because that would not be reason enough to post negative comments on virtually all videos of Harteros that exist in YouTube. Seriously, I have myself seen more than a dozen comments by yours about Harteros. All negative and very similar in content. This borders obsession.
