Got tired of wastin' gas livin' above the planetsMister, show me the way to earthThe boys in Quadrant 44With their vicious metal hounds never come around here no moreSometimes I wonder if I'm still aliveI'm six-feet down at age twenty-fiveMaxwell Leather Demon rock hand jiveI came down like waterFor the age of solar loveAnd hail to the fatherKiss your sons and daughters, goodbye, goodbyeSteam steady rollerLady tongue controllerTen feet tallBetter walk it back downDespite the great duress, always get off 'cause damn itIt's the only surefire way to winYour poison doesn't hurt me, noTender wine disguised in a milk-fat fair kiddie showI'm here to celebrate the one belowLast that I heard from good God aboveAs the slap on my ass by a lipstick-kissed elbow gloveI came down like waterFor the age of solar loveAnd hail to the fatherKiss your sons and daughters, goodbye, goodbyeSteam steady rollerLady tongue controllerTen feet tallBetter walk it back downI came down like waterFor the age of solar loveI came down like waterKiss your sons and daughtersTen feet tallBetter walk it back down

What is this version of the song? It's not the one I'm used to hearing, and there are additional lyrics. Is it just a cover, or is it an alternate version from the soundtrack?

I recently found out that this character was based almost entirely on the life of Jobriath, one of the first openly gay rock performers. When I saw the movie in the theater late 90s, I thought the character was a Bowie knockoff for sure. Song is excellent but the movie was pretty lame. Shudder To Think must have really peaked on this one b/c I never heard from them again"As the slap on my ass by a lipstick kissed elbow glove".....I'm not sure what that means, but it's a great lyric

I prefer the "movie-version" even though this isn't so bad

just one more comment to the actual writer of this song...this song is like an orgasm..when it gets to the part.."ten feet tall better walk it back down" you pray it will start all over again, but unfortunately at the second turn it's the end :(. Awesome song! It's a hit two decades ago or maybe in the future! <3
