Charted at #38 on Billboard Hot 100 in January 1956. Sounds very much like his 1940's hits. This song also charted at #36 on the Hot 100 for Etta Jones in November 1960 (#5 R&B) and #36 on the Adult Contemporary chart for Eydie Gorme in 1965. Original Billboard review: "This side is a gently paced ballad, pretty in lyric and melody. Will appeal to discerning pop jockeys." Billboard rating: 74 out of 100.

Released in December 1955.

Written by David A. Mann, Arthur Kent & Redd Evans.

B-side is "Steel Guitar".

I really hope that more people will discover and seek out these older recordings. I don't want them to ever fade out. I like the fact that you willing to try many different time periods!

my guess is that the majority of people who were into this music have died. I don't want to sound maudlin, but some of these are from before I was born. Many know the songs from parents or grandparents...I could open a hundred accounts and then comment on each of your uploads? Might get confusing because youtube tries to link your entire life (and I don't allow it)..I guarantee that I appreciate you enough for millions of people..You rock!!!!

You may be thirty-five, but you are an old soul. And that, my darling, is a compliment....

Correction: Etta James did not record it in 1960; it was Etta Jones. Thanks for the posting. the sound is great.

@lateforbreakfast I'm really surprised that more people aren't commenting on my Vaughn Monroe postings. Actually, I'm surprised that more people aren't commenting on most of my postings in general, lol.

During my time as a Radio DJ in the 1990's 2000's Vaughan Munroe was an often requested artist, yet I had not heard this track until today, its a goodie I must admit.
