Shouldn't have done this - he will never be as good at doing these songs as he was back then. Because it can't be bettered why bother - not interested in "Van the Man" spare me that personality cult crap. What really gripped me about the original is that it transcended his personality by that I mean the whole package - the singing, the lyrics and the music conspired to create something unique that was magical of the of that time - almost as if spirits of the age were using him as a channel. That kind of transcendant magic is not his to command - I'm sure many of his fans will love this but I loved the original and still do as one of the greatest records of all time but Van Morrison is only human and he will never be able to reproduce the original magic.
