I was in S.F. the day Jerry died. The entire city was in mourning and all you heard on the radio all day was The Dead. The mayor even hung a tie-dye flag off of city hall at half mast. Surreal...

I play this song at every gig or session. Great simple way to play it. I use an ES-339 and i get close to a 335 sound but not quite there. Thx. Give Sugaree a try for the tones on your 335

I'd always heard Gibson 335s called "dots."

Lucille has no f-holes? I never noticed - i guess I've only seen pictures of him playing the old stock ones, not the signature Gibson model PT - is there any way I can coax you into doing You're the Weight by Grin?

Nice, though I don't like black guitars. But this is your guitar, so I'm not supposed to like it anyway. Which year is it?

The cheaper parts are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the differences between Gibsons and Epiphones. Gibson 335s were called "dots" long before Epiphone started building copies to distinguish them from the later models that had other kinds of inlays.
