I bought this back in the day.........probably one of only a few 12"s in my collection that were better than the original. I agree with the other comments on 4AD, it felt like you were buying something special. Is this available on C.D. anywhere!

top tune, many thanks for posting, some help on another song by a different artist around the same time as this, i think the title is 'candlestick park' but, lyrics go.."goodbye little cover girl, for there will always another girl'..'this girl's unsure''..been racking my brains to find the artist..cheers folks :)

The first time that I've heard UVS in my hometown radio station (São Leopoldo - State of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil) was this version of Mercy Seat. The classic 4AD ! It was in a sunday afternoon show called Novas Tendências (New Tendencies), by great dj Zé Roberto Mahr. Good times...

WOW i remember going off my head when i bought this in the late 80's. a real gem of a song. still have it on 12" will never let it go 4AD brought such a good amount of underdround american music to the uk then.
