*Lights Out* :- Seems fitting that I post this song as I shut down for the night and turn the lights out here in order to get some rest. Turn it up and rejoice in the sound of British rock band *UFO*. Goodnight...

n sei o real motivo, mas sempre foram "boicotados", o marketing da epoca manteve eles "escondidos do mundo", mas o talentoo e brilho é evidente, ROCK, isso é rock ;)

I love how Paul Raymond plays the Hammond on the verses and then switches to guitar on the choruses and lead part.

@Gwyn Williams...Are you a Tonka Chapman fan? I wonder if that has more to do with defending such albums as Making Contact (an awful UFO recording, if ever there was one). Mechanix and its predecessor, The Wild The Willing and The Innocent, were good albums but No Place To Run was poor. Each of the Tonka albums had stand-out moments, of course, but generally they were disappointing compared to the Schenker-era recordings...even if I was not a Schenker fan, I could not deny that UFO was only made relevant because of Schenker's involvement with them. You sit there and talk about Schenker's failures after leaving UFO, which does hold some truth, but at the same time it is ignorant. He went on to have some success with MSG and, before that, contributed heavily to the success of one of the Scorpions greatest albums. To this day, he continues to be held in high regard by many guitarists of all ages...maybe not to be hailed as the greatest guitarist in the world but that's subjective, of course. His career didn't suffer much worse than UFO without him! Sure, Phil Mogg found a way to keep the band going all these years but if UFO's material was so good as you claim, why do they continue to play 75% of the material from Strangers In The Night?

it's been so long since I heard this and it's still a ton of massive and pure guitar artistry

If you want people to respond to you, then don't put words into their mouths. Because putting words into my mouth doesn't score any points for you. I never said any of those things about Schenker. I simply said that UFO's creative output was diminished when he departed. And I said that Phil Mogg's notoriously difficult personality was largely to blame. That's it. That's what I said. And no, I do not think that their later albums were as good as their earlier material. It's weak.

The destruction of UFO??Just in case you didn't know they're still going. So Schenker walked and went on to global stardom, filling 80,000 seat arenas, revered in every corner of the globe as the greatest guitarist of all time.No he didn't,his career went down the pan as soon as he quit.He is no bigger a name than UFO.Why is this?Because without UFO to carry him he was just another guitarist. As a huge UFO fan don't tell me that Mechanix,Making Contact etc.were not as good as any of their earlier LP

I never heard that, but Im not surprised. I recall reading how he was all loaded at an Alcatrazz show once and tripped on Yngwie's guitar chord and unplugged him during a guitar solo. Yngwie got totally pissed and chased bonnet out to the tour bus and began choking Bonnet's throat. That's why they kicked Yngwie out - because of that idiot Bonnet.

Not all Phil's fault. When Schenker left the Scorpions to join UFO, Uli Roth agreed to fill in for him for 5 albums. In 78, they did just that with Taken by force. Schenker mightve seen that as an opportunity to rejoin them and was just finding a way out of UFO. Bands always have infighting. I do agree, both UFO and Schenker never came close to where they were back then. It's been down hill from Strangers in the night on. Who knows to what heights they couldve reached had they stuck 2gether.
