*LYRICS*

Its another night out on the avenue

Looking for something, something that you knew

And you're wondering where she is

Now there's now there's no more rendezvous

*youre left out here on this cold stark street

With the sound of lovers as they tango and meet

Their sweet surrender with a promise and a kiss

Wheres that girl, the one you miss

Those ooh la la la girls in their skirts they go rushing by

They look around and give you that come on

With their dreamy dreamy eyes

Then you never stop to count your mistakes

That one blind moment with no give and take

Is lost in every strangers face you see

If there's a loser that losers me

** please put a little love back into my life

Wont you please put a little love back into my life

Every nights another night you keep looking back

Trying to fill the spaces hours and the minutes and the missing gaps

* repeat

** repeat

[instrumental]

Every shadows like a ghost that comes and haunts you

Angel of the night plays her tricks today it's true

With every step, every step you see her slip away

Not just today

Its another night out on the avenue

Looking for something, something that you knew

* repeat

People always focus on Schenker, (indeed a guitar genius) leaving but to say the band was history without him is rubbish. Chapman is an amazing guitarist in a pretty impossible job following Michael. The band continued to write great tracks and put out some creditable albums after SITN. And live they continue to blow the house down.

I saw them in 78 with Schenker, opening up for Blue Oyster Cult! Right!! In 79-80, they toured for SITN with Paul Chapman! Judas Priest and Wireless, opened the show! Insane!!!!

this sounds like an Eagles song...UFO without Schenker was a whole other story.after this album, Pete Way would leave, and they were history

Back in the early 80s a local rock station would simulcast on a cable TV station in my home town. Every so often they would cut in to show a few videos (they only had maybe a dozen.) This was one along with "Let it rain", my introduction to UFO. Huge fan ever since.

One of their greatest albums! One of the worst covers of any album!

UFO's headlining years in the US didn't really get underway until after SITN, though they broke off from the BOC support slot to play six headlining dates for that live album, then going back supporting various bands to see in '78. Not sure about 79 but I guess there were a lot of headlining dates whereas 80 thru to 81 they were top of the bill. 82 was supporting Ozzy in the U.S but then going off on some of their own dates. And then 83, Europe only dates, headlining before crashing.

What years did you see UFO live? In America? Were they a warm up band or headliners? Their prime years were before my time but I saw them in '04 in Detroit, an audience of maybe 600. Mogg and Raymond were the only 2 members from their most famous line up of '74-'78......which is hopefully what you saw.

This, among many others,was mine and my high school sweetheart's song. he would request it on the local radio station or call me and tell me to listen to it or play it on his car stereo for me every time we got back together, since we were just kids and broke up kind of frequently. This song is so special to me, really brings back some great memories.

Most romantic, sentimental of the UFO albums yet it still had great rock guitar playing. Had to play this baby 3 times in a row. Thanks for the post.
