I don't know much about Tyr's role among the Norse gods, so forgive me if I accidentally step on anyone's toes, but why are there two war gods among the aesir? From what I recall Odin is already a war deity among other things, so isn't having Tyr around sort of redundant? Or does he embody a different aspect of warfare?

I'm very confused about all the comments regarding whaling. In my opinion as long as the whales are respected, are actually used for food (not just hunted for sport), are killed as humanely as possible, and, of course, aren't an endangered species, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. Now, if they were being slaughtered ruthlessly merely for sport, then that would be an entirely different story.That aside, I think we should all take a moment to praise Týr and our Allfather Odin for this ridiculously amazing song.
