I first heard this song when I was 17 (well over a decade ago) I sat in a strange apartment for nearly 6 hours listening to the album on repeat and while sober, it took me away to a darkly beautiful place that i will always cherish. This will always be the most beautiful song I have ever heard.

i think this song is about murder. And when I realize this it scares me. Hearing him try to reassure her that she will feel no pain and "death is not real" when we know and probably she knows that its a lie. Only the narrator thinks differently out of denial. "I'm never going to have to do that again. But if I want to.. I can." *shivers*
