I'd imagine theres nothing more depressing for a performer than an audience with no energy. It really just feels likes your own energy is bleeding away. I'd rather see a bad band with a lively audience than my favourite band with a bad audience.

The crowds for late-night television shows are mostly made up tourists. Middle-age people aren't going to go crazy for a band they've never heard playing an OK song (off a good album).

problem is with you "cooler than thou" types is your dissing everyone including the audience. i cant even catch a word of what he's saying let alone wtf this songs about! ive listened to about 10 of their songs and this one is 1 of the weakest..
