All I can say is WOW! Just heard that Turisas put out a new album and that it was very different; this track was supposed to be the best of the disk. Seriously, WTF happened to Turisas? Were the band members all castrated or something?!? Musically it's far from the worst I've heard, but very cookie-cutter and not something I care to own. Bought the previous albums as fast as I could after hearing a track or two off them. Encyclopedia Metallum rates this at 38% - can't say I disagree. :(

i have presented you with the a perfectly reasonable arguement as to why you are wrong. if you choose to ignore it then you are starting to sound like a religious zealot! Nobody is saying it is easy being an artist, and certainly its good to support people but criticism is the whole reason that people improve!

peter and maksphoto are right. you CAN criticise without having to produce something better in the first place - it's rude but so fucking what. By your logic, someone could write a piece of music that nobody in the world could play, and no matter how it sounded (meaningless noise) it would still be the best piece of music ever written. think it through...

I just realized that this song was the first released from the album, and it was pretty much turisas talking about the main theme of the album. And our immediate reaction to it. I swear, everything turisas has done in the past few years has been more than meets the eye.

You're mistaken. "Pop" isn't a musical genre; it means popular music, and the definition for that changes all the time. You could say that it's something that plays on MTV and/or radio, the top shelf stuff you might find in a super market. Turisas isn't quite there yet ;).
