Title: Feelin' Alright (track 05)

Artist: Traffic

Album: Traffic

Year: 1968

Label: Island, United Artists, Polydor

Writer(s): Dave Mason

Lyrics:

Seems I've got to have a change of scene

Cause every night I have the strangest dream

Imprisoned by the way it couldn't be

Left here on my own or so it seems

I've got to leave before I start to scream

But someone's locked the door and took the key

Ya feelin' alright?

I'm not feelin' too good myself

Well, ya feelin' Alright?

I'm not feelin' too good myself

Well boy you sure took me for one big ride

And even now I sit and wonder why

That when I think of you I start to cry

I just can't waste my time I must keep dry

Got to stop believin' in all your lies

Cause there's too much to do before I die

Ya feelin' alright?

I'm not feelin' too good myself

Well, ya feelin' alright?

I'm not feelin' too good myself

Don't get too lost in all I say

Like the time I really felt that way

But that was then and now it's today

Can't get off yet and so I'm here to stay

Till' someone comes along and takes my place

With a different name, yes, and a different face

Ya Feelin' alright?

I'm not feelin' too good myself

Well, ya feelin' alright?

I'm not feelin' too good myself

On this day in 1970 {June 14th} Derek and the Dominos appeared in concert for the first time when they performed at the Lyceum Theatre in London, England...They played a set of five songs; "Blues Power", "Bottle of Red Wine", "Cross Road Blues", "Spoonful", and "Feelin' Alright"*...Just under five months later on November 9th, 1970 the group's only album, "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs", was released and eventually it peaked at #16 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart...* Dave Mason accompanied the band on "Feelin' Alright", the song was composed by Dave Mason and originally recorded by Traffic, of which he was a member...

I'm my opinion I like the traffic version of this song the most. Joe Cocker did a amazing job on this song but overall this version has a better musical sound. From the beautiful saxophone and the delicate piano. This song is full of great sounds. Love this version!

The late Joe Cocker's version was the most famous .... but this was a Dave Mason composition, I like his laid back approach .... and Chris Wood on the Sax is always cool

Fantastic song and i like covers of Joe Cocker and Grand Funk Railroad, they covered it with their style. This song was also an inspiration for one of my favorite songs, Dollar Bill by Screaming Trees!
