Tracie was the landlady at the Bowling Green pub in Hereford a few years back. Lovely lady.

She has a great voice, she can sing live really raw. When you sleep was a great song it's on you tube and she sings it live just sat down with a great band pure class.

.. the weird thing is, your comment is, strangely enough, probably the most sensible out of all the comments here (.. which doesn't say much for the rest of us). Some folk really like to get their knickers in a twist over long dead groups .. just read the waffle from guys getting bent out of shape over The Jam, it's enough to make you old ;P

we can agree to disagree .. besides the Eagles were perennial No.1 hit providers long after Randy Meisner .. bands change personnel and evolve all the time .. wtf? what's your point??

Randy Meisner's 'very brief stint' in The Eagles involved five albums over six years (1971-77). Once he left, things went downhill pretty fast. The analogy with Tracie and The Jam is ludicrous.

what a load of crap. she sang in 1, yes ONE song with The Jam and that was to give her exposure. She will not, nor never will be a member of The Jam. Tina Turner sang Acid Queen and Elton John sang Pinball Wizard. Are they now members of The Who ? Don't talk shite mate.

Which is more than can be said for you. I can't recall you in any Jam takes. Whether an artist plays a couple songs or a hundred, still makes them part of the group - at least technically speaking. Some of the greatest groups in music history had members they still recognize as such that only did a few songs as a band member before moving on. For example, Randy Meisner: who left the Eagles after only a very brief stint as a founding member. For mine, that means Tracie definitely qualifies.

part of The Jam is a bit of a stretch. She appeared on Beat Surrender so Weller could get her some exposure and on TOTP. He did the same thing with her in The Style Council.

Why is her voice always so low in the mix? The production is bloody awful.

@sumyoungay Maybe its the appeal of her looking real, as opposed to a spray tanned silicone filled brain dead zombie of these days i agree, but at the same time image has been important for pop music since the days of elvis, even tracy and her "non image" is quite clever.

@sumyoungay Before excessive styling???? The eighties, the decade that brought us Boy George, Marilyn, Pete Burns, Duran Duran, Spaundau Ballet, etc

@OrangeFuzz123 ... hate to say it, but i agree. What ever happened to the classy songstress that was part of The Jam? ... sigh, she obviously was got to by those f@#king big recording studios to record this tripe. You just know: you can see it's all forced and she's faking the smile.
