I heard this song on the radio only once. I don't think it was released as a single in North America. Yet it stayed with me after only hearing it one time.

Can't believe it's been 27 years since this cracking tune was out there. Where do those years go?

T' Pau - ValentineOne of my favorite songs by this band (Heart & Soul is my fav! lol)Even though it's a sad song, it is beautifully sung...<3We go our separate waysWith nothing but a smileHearts break in many waysOh how, you've broken mineI know mine are the arms you'll never holdI know mine is a love remains untold...

Seriously believe T`Pau had the quality to be a long haul outfit. Shame they called it a day, lot`s more in the tank I always thought.

This is a brilliant song from a brilliant band. Surprised they only had three top ten hits ( this, China In Your Hand and Heart and Soul). Sadly I think it was because they were around at the start of the Stock, Aitkin and Waterman era and they never really stood a chance once that took off

Classic Rock : Back in the high life againBack to the 80sT'Pau - ValentineFrom the album : Bridge of Spies (1988)The single "Valentine" was the band's third top 10 single in the UK, peaking at No. 9 for a total of eight weeks. Although the band would continue to release big hits, no following singles reached the top ten, making "Valentine" the final top ten single from the band. The single was also a moderate hit within Europe.A promotional video was created for the single. The band also performed the song on UK show The Roxy as well as the popular music show Top of the Pops."Valentine" was written by rhythm guitarist Ronnie Rogers and lead vocalist Carol Decker. The b-side for the single "Giving My Love Away" was exclusive to the single, written again by Rogers and Decker. The song was produced by Rogers and T'Pau drummer Tim Burgess. For the 12" vinyl and CD versions of the single, a bonus cover version of "I'm a Believer" was included. The song featured Ron Rogers on lead vocal, originally written by Neil Diamond.[5] The song was produced by Rogers and Burgess. The CD version of the single featured a live version of the band's biggest hit (UK #1), "China in Your Hand". The recording is an unadulterated and unoverdubbed live recording made at the Scottish Exhibition Centre on 29 October 1987.
