By the summer of 1975, Mr Bolan's time as a ginormous teenybopper idol had well and truly passed .... and the tartan-clad Bay City Rollers were by far the most popular group in Great Britain - with young women in the 12 - 20 age range, at any rate.I couldn't help noticing - while watching that 'T.O.T.P.' footage of Bolan from July '75 - that he was wearing an inordinate amount of make-up on his face .... far more, in fact, than he had worn during the peak days of "T. Rextasy" some 3 or 4 years previously. Perhaps his intention - in wearing so much 'slap' - was to make himself look younger than his 27 (nearly 28 years), and to recapture the status as a 'teenybopper' idol that he had had in 1971/72. Personally, I think that, by that juncture in his career (1975), the great man was over-doing the make-up somewhat; it made him look ever-so-slightly effeminate (in my opinion). However, when he had been at the peak of his popularity and success - during the period between early 1971 and mid-1972 (approx) - he never looked in the slightest bit effeminate.Mr Marc Bolan's reign as Britian's number one pop/rock star was a relatively brief one .... but it was also a glorious one. He was a massive talent, and is now generally considered (by knowledgeable pop/rock historians) to have been the instigator of the glam rock craze which swept the nation between mid-1972 and early '75 (approx). R.I.P. Mr Bolan.

Thanks so much for this I saw Marc sing this live at Wimbledon theatre. In the 70s for a show think it was super pop 76. He was in pink suit and pink top hat. Great memories of a legend
