well ya but you gotta also think once an artist is mainstream they dont have to try nearly as hard to impress people... they already have a large fanbase, so they can say anything and they know the kids will listen. Where do you think the term "trendsetter" came from? Look at eminem, his album 'Infinite' was way iller than any of his other shit, because he had to work like a mofo to try n get noticed. Im not saying all artists are like that, but most people would go for the easy route, im sure.
