Forty years have passed, and to this day the chorus of this song resonates in my head whenever I hear the name Jeannie, or anything close. I have an 8 year-old niece whose name is Dina, and I call her Dina Marie...to the tune of this song. (Kind of unfair to her, as her middle name is not Marie, but so goes the embedding of song lyrics in my mind...)
