to be honest I think DeCarlo has a better voice for Boston. He sings most of the songs really smoothly and from this performance, it just seems like this guy is always out of breath when he sings

Is Tom Scholz wearing headphones?

Christopher Range

+jeeter le Maybe he would have. But his commitment is to STRYPER.

+MegaBigntasty Michael Sweet does have a higher vocal range than Brad Delp did. But Brad Delp fit in the band better.

+supergolfdude His commitment to STRYPER is first.

+cagwa If you knew anything about STRYPER. You would know the Michael Sweet is the younger brother of the drummer(Robert Sweet). He isn't overdoing it at all.

This is the guy they should have brought in to replace Delp.

Damn Yankee

The footpedal to trigger the Echoplex is a gutted wah-wah pedal (with folded sheetmetal to "spring" the pedal up) to rock the pedal up and down (for repeats) and the pedal itself is perched on a slab of grease with a metal pivot drilled into the heel so he can motion the pedal left or right for the fast/slow echo. If you've ever seen the "hyperspace pedal", it is the most crudest piece of guitar equipment you've ever seen yet creates the most incredible guitar noises ever put on record.

Damn Yankee

He uses several of his studio-quality Rockman Eqs pre and post compression, his home custom compression in his Rockman Sustainor, and a Hyperspace pedal (a butchered up, err, "customized" EP-3 Echoplex, internally wired with an old 110V MXR 10band EQ and he uses a customized "foot pedal" for the Echoplex.

Lots of compression built into his rig. I use a Rockman XP100 100 watt amp, and the onboard compression gives a lot of life to pick slides, harmonics, etc.
