My Second Lyrics Video. This Is A Very Popular Song. This is about George Pelawa, a 18 yr old MN hockey player and the 1986 first round draft choice of Calgary. He received a scholarship to play at North Dakota, which is the college the song refers to. A semi-truck veered over into the wrong lane of a two-lane highway, and a head-on collision occurred. No alcohol was involved, and a sleepy trucker was involved. Tom Cochrane met George's father shortly after his son's death, and the story stuck in his mind, and the song was written around 1988.

I was doing lyrics analysis for this song during English lesson, I was expecting a great melody that is going to come with this song, turn out even better than my own expectation

Last night I took my 1 month old baby Sam to see Tom play at the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train event in Hamilton. It was his first ever concert, and this was the first song of the set. He was asleep until the first chords rang out and he opened his eyes up wide. It's songs like these that make Tom a true Canadian icon. I'm so glad to have this story to tell Sam when he grows up.

We have all experienced loss. After the tears and pain we learn how to live with whatever hurts us down deep. This song is an expression of feeling and it is artistic genius to express such. Guilty of listening to it several times over and over when I need to do so... Thanks for posting.... Life is a big league...

Sometimes at night I can hear the ass crack, it sounds like thunder and rips through my back; early in the morning I still hear the sound. Ass scrapes metal, then I'm going down to the pig league!
