Lyrics MATED - TODD RUNDGREN Everyone asksAre we some kind of lovers?Everyone asks what you're doing with meI know this is not what they wantThey're afraid you've been blindedBut I already know how it's going to beIf anyone should askSay we're matedFor as long as this life lastsWe are matedWhy else would you be here right nowAnd you know we'll still be here tomorrowNobody else understands what I'm doingNobody else makes me act in this wayAnd because they can't comprehendWhat we mean to each othersponsored links They won't leave you aloneSo you know what to sayI hold you in my heart'Cause we're matedIn a very special partWe are matedWhy else would I be here right nowAnd you know I'll still be here tomorrowI see things far ahead, maybe lightMaybe beautiful childrenI don't have words I'm thinking ofBut it's way beyond what they call love

It's funny but, when I saw 2nd Wind I was talking to one of the band members (my memory says Kaz but I know that's not right) and the band was po'd because they had been doing the Mercy Me medley and Robert Palmer lifted the same idea and had a huge hit with it at that time. But, jeez just think about all the money Todd made from frickin Meat Loaf. People are just ignorant.

Saw this tour in 90' in Chi Town...Love love it. Thank goodness I made My little Brother tape it from the XRT radio. I still have the cassette tape. I still rock this every chance I get. Time going by too fast.

Can't beat the Something/Anything album. I used to do 2 songs from that album in a band, "Couldn't I Just Tell You", and "Black Maria". GREAT album.

Yes, but I prefer the older stuff like Something/Anything.

Saw this tour in Kalamazoo and Chicago on New Year's eve and it was so so good. Lyle Workman on guitar, Larry Tagg on bass. Just super great musicality. As great as Todd is all by his lonesome, he moves to sublime when he's restricted to the format of a tight tight band. This vid to me shows that. Two years later the 2nd Wind band and set just wasn't quite as good. I have this on VHS if you can get a copy totally worth it.

So what about how many hit songs he's had. Are we supposed to choose our music and judge musicians by what the people who control radio decide for us? Count me out.

Beautiful song. I wonder what it would sound like if it would be performed by Rufus Wainright, another true singer.
