Tino Rossi with Orchestra -- Ecoutez les mandolines (Listen To The Mandolines) Fox-trot chanté from 1937 French musical drama "Naples au baiser de feu" (Musique: Vincent Scotto, Paroles: J.Rodor, G.Koger, L.Audiffred) Columbia 1937 (UK pressing)

NOTE: "Naples au baiser de feu" (Naples Kissed by the Fire) was a French movie released in Europe under tiitle: The Kiss of Fire. It was made in France by veteran Italian director Augusto Genina. Tino Rossi plays Mario, a Neapolitan cabaret singer who is tired of his life and hopes to settle down into a domestic existence with Assunta (Mirielle Balin) his boss' daughter. All of this changes when Mario falls in love with Lolita (Vivian Romance), the girlfriend of his roommate Michael (Michel Simon).

Music was composed by a distinguished French composer, Vincent Scotto author of "La Petite Tonkinoise" (performed by Josephine Baker in Casino de Paris), Vieni Vieni (performed in 1937 by many of the top singers in the world, including Erna Sack, Tino Rossi, Joseph Schmidt or Rudy Vallee) or "Sous les ponts de Paris" (Under The Bridges of Paris) -- which was one of the greatest international hits ever composed, made famous by such interpreteurs as Lucienne Delyle, Eartha Kitt or Dean Martin.

@chiekom8 I was lucky to find Tino Rossi long ago; but, I agree, this is a great channel to his memory... He was Bing Crosbie, Frank Sinatra and Maurice Chevalier long before they were themeselves.....

@dzheger Instead of "see Naples and die" I prefer to "see Naples and still go on" :-)) I was there a few times, once I was even given a chance to stay with a typical "Napuletan" family for over a week. I was simply in love with that city. The days of walking, walking thro the centuries of its history - and then, the nights... mmmm The memories that will naver fade

@jonno52 I also uploaded "J'attendrai" some time ago. Actually, that remarkable Italian song was made famous by Rina Ketty (her version is available in You Tube) but Tino's rendition is also beautiful.

@tango3721 Isn't it wonderful: a man with the angel's voice, and he does not irritate us with that sweet sound. Usually, men with such sweeteness in their mouth seem to be false, artificial, pretentious while in Tino Rossi's sweetneness there's nothing but naturality and truth, indeed.

@barbcard It's been over a year now I HAVE NOT PUT ON my tv set and I feel more and more happy WITHOUT it! Television has already crossed a 1000 times that invisible border of my mind and soul's tolerance to vulgarity, to the lie, obscenity, false vision of the world, arrogance, ignorance, bad language etc etc. In comparison with internet - who can give you freedom or at least open some ways towards it - tv is a cheeky, ignorant, big mouthed street vendor seller. Throw your tv out to the trash

Merci for this lyrical vid, especially at a time when the media are saturated with violent images of all sorts.

Hello Grzegorz - what a super wonderful vid for Saturday morning - full of falling leaves and Autumn sunshine. His voice is smooth and rich - however your artwork never ceases to amaze me in terms of its artistry. Have a great Saturday and thanks whole bunch for this fabulous upload!!!
