Great vintage video! Strangely, the vocal sounds like a strange amalgam of Randy Meisner (in his range) and Glenn Frey (the delivery--compare this to "Smuggler's Blues"). A great track altogether, thanks for sharing!

Why wasn't this a hit? This and So Much in Love are great songs. I found the cassette years ago and still enjoy it.

I'm glad he grew it out again. He looks much better with long hair... in my opinion.

Randy Meisner is the bass player on Hotel California. Timothy joined late in 1977 and played on their 1979 album "The Long Run".

I'm glad he grew it back out again. He definitely looks better with it long (in my opinion).

This sounds like it could be music for a public service announcement. "Summer's heating up... make sure you're keeping cool with a bottle of water and some sunscreen. Because it's all about playing it cool. A message from MTV." :-)

We played this ALL the time at WTCS in Fairmont, WV. What a GREAT song! And why was it not a bigger hit? I can tell you EXACTLTY why: the album was released in September and the single was released AFTER that! Had this been released at the end of May/beginning of June it would have been better received. It's a SUMMER song. You don't release "summer songs" after July 4th!!! What a great song, though! Thanks for posting!!!

Well, you're talking about something completely different, though. Yeah, I understand why they'd spend 15 minutes or whatever it was talking about Glenn and Don's solo careers, and literally NO TIME AT ALL talking about Tim's solo records. What I thought was weird was this song was used in the documentary, but purely as background music. If you didn't know the song, you'd never know that it was actually done by Tim. You might think it was just random library music or something.

It might seem odd but you gotta realize, Henley and Frey's solo stuff saw a lot of face time on the charts so it was worth highlighting. Unfortunately, as talented as Schmit is, his solo stuff didn't really have legs and didn't hold up well with time, so it probably wasn't worth mentioning.

I thought it was weird in the History Of The Eagles documentary, when they're talking about what they did during the 80's, they play a bit of the intro to this song, while Timothy explains what he did while waiting for Henley, Frey and Felder to kiss and make up. The funny thing was, he never mentioned his solo records, he just talked about the other musicians he backed up during that era. Kinda odd I always thought.
