Tim Hardin's version of Leonard Cohen's, 'Bird On A Wire', is a lovely song, although it is a sad reminder of how Tim had to live his life. This is from the album of the same name, 'Bird On A Wire', which was released in 1971. It has full orchestration. We lost a great singer/songwriter at the age of 39. Dedicated to all Tim Hardin fans. Enjoy!

To try and attach some meaning in Tim's life by a song written by someone else is taking a rather large stretch on claiming to know to and why he was as a person, Sounds like you ascribe to the usual sad drug addict rap.Tim was so much more than what that might suggest ,he loved his life, he had a wicked sense of humor and became addicted to drugs in The Korean war overseas, but that is not who he was , for someone who left us to early he left us with a treasure trove of music, You people talk like he was some sad sack who managed to write two songs and died.He indeed was not a bird on a wire trying to be free anymore than it applied to the person who wrote it and was not having an off an on drug problem or those who bought it feeling some kinship to something we all feel to some extent..

I'm very surprised that I;ve only just know discovered Tim Hardin. I've heard covers of his songs, but didn't know he was the writer. (& never heard him sing) He has a very unique voice & style of singing.

Yes. I is very sad. I was young when he first became known and I followed his career. I kept hoping he could get his life in order. I am so very sorry he died so young. He was a brilliant writer and singer. We could have had many wonderful songs and he could have helped many people through his music. You are very insightful. Thank you for adding this about Tim! My best to you, Barbara
