Hmmm, not sure I like this song. It sounds like a weird cross between OMD and INXS. It seems that Thompson Twins couldn't decide which direction to go in after the success of Into the Gap (1984).Unlike the Eurythmics they lacked the ability to change their sound and stay successful. I think they should have been bolder and more experimental along the lines of say Talking Heads, as they had the talent and creativity to do so. But writing stuff like this, which is just bland soft rock and pretty forgettable is a real shame when you compared it to their earlier stuff.

I LOVE this song and THANK-YOU so much for posting it. Out of ALL the groups from the 80's, The Thompson Twins are my favorite! The pic you have at 37sec I had done as a tattoo on my left shoulder.

Well I like it. Its got loads of good twiddly percussion bits and some great synth. This and Dancing in your shoes are the albums standouts.

Aussie - TOTALLY agree with you. I am a HUGE fan of the Twins but I have never liked this awful song. It would have been good to see the original video for it though as I never did see it at the time.

I totally agree with you - Get that love, Long Goodbye, Follow your heart and Perfect day were my favorites from Close to the Bone too. I hated this song (Bush baby) - but I remember that record reviewers at the time were saying this was the stand out track on the album and should have been the lead single.

Sounds as ear grindly bad as it did when I first bought Close to the bone when it was first released. Was so disappointed with this album, even in an interview they acknoweldged that this album was "tragic". Get that love is one of their best ever tracks, besides that Follow your heart, Long Goodbye and Perfect Day are about the only other highlights on this album the rest is possibly some of their worst ever material.
