@MrSamy0 and others: It's good to try to be honest and not to say something untrue, but I think that what the song "Creed" say about Jesus who "descended into Hell and on the third day He rose again" is probably inspired by 1 Peter 3:18-22. Actually that's not Third Day who invented the lyrics of "Creed", it's actually the "Apostle's Creed" a very old statement of faith.

@dejavu3552 depends on what translation you get. If you get a paraphrase (which I do not recommend) then you can make that argument. If we are talking about direct translations from the Greek and Hebrew text (such as the NASB, the ESV, or the NKJB) then you can not.

They are not perfect, nor you or I. The rest of their music is correct, and has changed many lives. The writers of the song probably were under the influence that because Jesus was a human, in physical form only, that he went to hell because he died. They were completely mistaken. Or, they had a bad version of the Bible. Someone needs to give them a King James version.

One thing I did hear, was that Third Day did not write Creed. Pay attention to Mac saying the artist's name at the beginning of the song.. on the Chronology 2 CD. But, it is Third Day's mistake for singing it. Although, that is no reason for you to stop listening to them.
