Lyrics & Information

Taken from a fabulous soundboard recording of Lizzy's appearance at the Rainbow.

I never realised this song was about Hendrix but looks like it was! Enjoy!

Lyrics :-

Thankyou! This is a song written about Jimi Hendrix this one. There he is there's the Strat.

This is a number called Warriors.

1,2,1,2,3,4!

[Intro]

I am a Warrior

I serve the Death machine

Losers or Conquerors

All flash past on my silver screen

Death is no easy answer

For those who really wish to know

Just as those who've been before you

What fate does the future hold?

It ain't pretty [echo]

I am a messenger

The message, you all should know

I am a Warrior

I deliver the fatal blow

So fate, will have to wait

Till time, can heal the scar

See my heart, it's ruled by Venus

My head, by Mars

[Awesome solo]

[Insane drum solo follows]

[Twin solo attack outro and finish]

I've just seen this, a year too late. Awesome comeback !!! Are you 13 years old on your mums computer? You must be a year older now so say 14?

@SEbZoso - Gary's not a cock, but you're an asshole. He does overplay a bit on this one, but he was filling in, and this may have been one of the first gigs - he was called in at the last minute because of Robbo's absence - what he did was smokin', not an imitation of Robbo, for which I must commend him. Most guitarists would have tried to play Robbo's soloing note for note. Shut the f#*#* up.

They both shared lead duty on most of the songs. The twin lead attack was big in the 70's/80's. Not sure about this song.

Absolutely true. The wah solo is a highlite of this classic rock tune. But are you sure Brian played the solo? As far as I know Scott Gorham was the lead guitar player.

Yeah that definately sounds like Gary Moore, I prefer Brian Robertson's Wah over Gary's Shreading D=

You're right! I did a little bit of research, this was around the time Robbo had to leave the band, cos he slashed his hand in a pub brawl trying to protect fellow Scot and Rock performer Frankie Miller from a glass bottle. So Gary Moore filled in. And I believe Brian laid down his sticks for the American leg of Live & Dangerous tour so Mark Nauseef was drafted in. Though I'm not entirely sure if thats the case in this specific song, but it was around 78! Cheers for noticing!
