For me, the song is an exquisite expression of longing. It is erotic in a real, pure, honest way and is not the typical overwrought or cliche kind of tune we often hear. This is an incredible song that can't help but fill you with the same feelings unless you've never experienced such in your own life. TWP were a band so sadly overlooked -true pioneers who weren't so much about the limelight as they were about creating art on their own terms without compromising. Back when I was young, they were never my favorite, some of their music being a bit of a challenge, but now that I'm middle-aged I find I appreciate their quirkiness so much more. Today's music seems to have devolved into garbage or just strikes me as repeats of the past. TWP are a refreshing treasure to once again stimulate the mind and heart with. So glad I recently revisited their albums. The song writer knew his craft well. Too bad 4AD eventually let them go.
