Keith Moon would have been 68 today !「けいおん !! 」第3話「ドラマー！」で、「The WHOのDVDを見たんだ！キース・ムーンの！」と云うシーンがある通り、田井中律ちゃんが尊敬と憧憬とを抱いているドラマ―が彼である。キース・ムーンは1946年の今日、英ロンドンで誕生した。10代初めからドラムを始めたキースは、64年に17歳でザ・フーに加入。その激しすぎるパフォーマンス姿でファンの目をくぎ付けにした。インタビューでは、「俺はドラマーに向いていると思うけど、偉大なドラマーを目指しているわけじゃない。ザ・フーでドラムを叩いていたいだけさ」と語っていたキース。75年には最初で最後のソロアルバム『Two Sides of the Moon』を発表するが、78年9月7日、処方薬の過剰摂取が原因で、32年の短い人生を終えた。「けいおん！」作品中での律ちゃんのドラムパフォーマンスは、実に良く彼のそれをなぞっている。スタッフの思い入れの深さの表れである、と思う。THE Whoの代表曲と云えばこの掛け値なしの名曲、「Summertime Blues」。すでに伝説となった彼のパフォーマンスを堪能して欲しい。
