Wondering. Did Johnny Kidd and the Pirates or The Guess Who do this originally? First time I heard it was by The Guess Who back in 1965.

They did film most of The Who's set at Woodstock, but they haven't put all the footage out yet, which is a shame, because it was the most GLORIOUS example of rock music in the history of the existence of this universe.

From what I've heard, heavy rock rarely sucks.

I am a loooooongtime Zeppelin and Who fan also. My favourite has got to be the version done by the Canadian band the Guess Who. Do a search here for "The Guess Who - Shakin' All Over ~ Skeleton Dance " for someone's homemade video.

Guess Who version is tame, really tame, compared to The Who's performance here, at Live At Leeds, or Isle of Wight. The Who's versions are hard rock style, Guess Who's is more early 60's, and guitar work...?! No comparison, unless you prefer tame. Let's not even start on the bass lines, no one, repeat NO ONE compares to Entwhistle, not ever, in the history of Rock n Roll

i disagree, like the Who's version from here better, and from Live at Leeds best....
