#5 on the self-titled album. Since this is my fav album, I added a picture of the icky thump record studio.

Graham Coxon has often talked about how he uses his guitar and distortion pedals to express his emotion, its funny how it just fells more expressive with distortion, isn't it? another great example, Seasick Steve, using a really dirty gritty tone.

Why isn't any one discussing the lyrics of this song? D:

Yeah, the rawness of the music is supposed to be there. Its like how recordings used to be: one, maybe two takes, without any desire to make it sound perfect. The emotion is in the song, in his voice and the guitar playing. Much more human than when the sound is perfected in my humble opinion

never heard of Wolfmother huh? They give the White Stripes a run for their money.

I've found most people are put off by Jack's voice, but judging by the fact that you only got into a few songs, it seems more the gritty dirtiness of the guitar playing. That's what put me off a bit at first as a guitarist, until I realized just how much it tapped into my emotion.

Upon opening up my pandora on my phone to my white stripes station while having some work done by my dentist, this song pops up... so so true.

I hope Meg thanks her lucky stars, she's practically a household name and I could play her drum parts with both hands tied. Wouldn't be White Stripes without her though....

No one can do rhythm like White stripes, though Franz Ferdinand do it pretty well too.

@Blainne1 I'm a huge Zeppelin fan myself, but The Strokes are nowhere near Zeppelin or the Stripes.
