Australian duo The Webb released this version of 'Just like that' in 1996.
Written by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and an early version was recorded by Abba in 1982. Unreleased by them, it was rewritten into two different songs for the musical chess, with at least three demos recorded by Elaine Paige and Tommy Korberg during 1983/4
Unused in Chess, it was slightly re-written again and recorded by Brother and sister duo 'Gemini' in 1985.
This version is a slight hybrid cover version, using Gemini verses and Abba's chorus. (The Gemini chorus was very slightly different)

I really wish I could like it...but his voice grates on my ears. Plus I don't like the lyrical changes. Especially "the song of sirens" which should be "the sound of silence". Top marks for originality, but that "aaah-waaaw-hooowwwhaa" at end sounds like someone stamped on his foot!11 years ago

Outstanding version!!! I'm a huge fan of ABBA, and I have listened to many artists covering their songs, but I must say that this is one the best covers. Apart from a few other artists who have covered Abba songs, The Webb did a remarkable job. Have you got more information about them that you can provide?11 years ago

OK, some trivia: the two guys were the last singer and drummer for Indecent Obsession; the clip was directed by Jo Cadman, produced & edited by Maurice Todman (we swapped roles for this one), and it was filmed at Stockton Beach near Newcastle in the dunes. They did one more video as the Webb, but I've forgotten what it was called, again directed by Jo Cadman12 years ago

Considering that the original ABBA chorus had already released on Undeleted ut does make sence that these guys made use of it for the chorus of their cover. The original ABBA chorus is better than the reworked one for Gemini. Yet this cover is far too poppy-aceofbase-parody for my taste.13 years ago
