One of the most delightful Ebay LP purchases I've made in the last couple of years was to be able to buy this record (created in 1957) and it's precursor, "'S Wonderful" (1956) and the third in the series, "'S Awful Nice" (1958).

Beautiful arrangements from Ray Conniff as his career was taking off and these platters - and their covers - are just in amazing original condition.

Just look at the cover photo...straight out of "Mad Men"! :)

So here is one of the classic Easy Listening pieces, straight from 1957 with the Ray Conniff orchestra and chorus in wonderful harmony.

Please note that this is a monophonic track and was recorded directly from the vinyl LP without any digital enhancements or filtering.

What you are hearing is exactly the sound produced by the needle running in the groove. :

Many thanks for your feedback and comments. You are so right in saying the sound is addictive. His sound was unique. There was no way one could ever mistake it for anything other than a "Conniff". :)

Many thanks for your feedback. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. I don't have "Memories Are Made Of This" but a search here came up with three examples by Mr. Conniff.

Many great memories of my Dad and Mom playing this song and dancing in our home. Seeing this as a young lad made me feel so good to see such love and affection from my parents, God bless to my parents.

I did in 1958, as well as the rest of the 'S series and the Concert in Rythm that followed. Too bad that he veered away from using the human voice as a musical instrument in the '70s turning his Chorus into The Singers, which is when I stopped buying his LPs. I still have the entire series in LPs, which in some cases I have doubled up. I also have them on CD, but they do not have the same satisfying richness of sound that LPs provide me with. Thanks for posting these from your LPs.

I bought this new in 1957, and bought a second and kept it sealed as it is today. I also have 'S Wonderful, and "S Awful, and a pristine seal copy of both. I was just kid when these records were released and I fell in love with the Conniff sound. If you do not have Rhapsody in Rhythm it's a must, Moonlight and Roses from that LP is one of the most beautiful of all the Conniff masterpieces.
