In loving memory of John Walker , lead vocalist with the Walker Bros who died today. The Walker Brothers ,despite being renowned for over produced dramatic sixties classics ,did cut some pretty cool sides a 1000 miles away from their hits. This one " Doin' the Jerk" was tucked away on the flip of their " Pretty Girls Everywhere" 45 on UK Phillips from 1966. I used to cover this up as John Scott and the Brothers ! when airing it at Mod nights back in the day ! Mods woulda been miffed at the Walker Brothers. A great soulful tune that fooled many.
