This was the first song recorded by the Valentines in 54 after Richard Barrett joined the group as lead singer. The group was called the Dreamers and changed to The Valentines after Richard Joined. Great sound but never received the recognition they so deserved! They were, as many other Doo Wop groups, made up of city Street corner singers.

@hah13 While Monte Bruce never released The Valentines’ two 1954 sides, they did play over the radio. DJ Willie Bryant got copies and broadcast Summer Love (Bruce Records version) on his radio show for a while. By 1954 The Harptones had turned into a success story and made Bruce Records, so little effort was being made on behalf of a new group - too slow for The Valentines’ liking anyway. The Valentines had no contract with Bruce, either. :I:
