Paul’s doing a good job, in my opinion. But of course Sharkey is non one to be simply replaced. This version sounds very grown up, a far cry from the roughness of the 80s. They’ve changed, and so have we. I’m contemplating whether I should go watch them this summer in Cologne, but I hesitate. Trying to capture the past (and run the risk of spoiling all those memories) or just take them for what they are now – I'm not sure.

not many thumbs up ? Probably because no Sharkey + it is too fast and lacks the tension of the single. The guitarists are forcing it with their grown up musicianship...and because of that WRONG kind of tension; it lacks the fluidity, fragility and heart felt angst of the original record.
