"Bubblegum" is a specific genre of '60s pop music. It doesn't mean Bieber, etc. But I agree that the Turtles aren't bubblegum. The genre the uploader is looking for is "Sunshine Pop".

Sounds like you are a REAL Turtles fan and that is great! I took the first greatest hits album to my dj friend in the late 1970's and he played this cut over the air. He got several phone calls from listeners asking about it. I think he had said that he had never heard the song on the local radio. It WAS played but only sparingly. Too bad! I also do NOT remember hearing "Let Me Be" and "Can I Get To Know You Better?" on the radio. Anyhow, the Turtles made the 1960's more memorable!

Hi, you are preaching to the converted. I know all the Turtles material and, have all their 45's & albums including all promo 45's including the rare ones and all CDs ever released. My favorite band of all time.

Would have made a GREAT single and if White Whale had released this gem when the Turtles were really hot, this song would have been a BIG hit since the harmonies by the guys are AWESOME!!! This song was actually on the Turtles' first greatest hits album even though it got limited airplay which was rather strange for White Whale to do. Check out by the Turtles "So Goes Love" and "Me About You:" which are great unknown songs by this memorable group.

tfoley, Howard's always looked old for his age. In their earliest, isn't he the oldest looking 18-20 year old you've seen in any era? The late photos 22-23 years old near the end, he's already getting some grey. I saw a weird thing they did with Martin Mull (fernwood tonight) in the late 70's he's already half white and balding at 30. That's just Howie. I also gotta say, bubblegum wasn't really coined until later. I'd call them a psychadelic pop band.

Would have made a good single when the band were still going. White Whale did release it as a 45 after they disbanded.

The Grassroots also recorded this on their first album.I like this version too. They as the Turtles recorded many songs P.F.Sloan.I think White Whale released this song shortly before it went under and after the Turtles broke up.

@centralparocker Actually, this song was featured on the Turtles' Greatest Hits Album on White Whale Records back in the late 60's. It is funny that it was featured on this album and got only limited airplay in the Bay Area where I lived at that time. So I guess it is an obscure song that was a "hit" if that makes any sense. It should have been a bigger hit since the harmonies by the guys are AWESOME in this song!!!!! Not sure why it did not get the recognition that is deserved back then.
