I cry every time I see this video. As a wife of a CAF member who has served overseas, it brings chills. A very well done tribute to the men and women of our CAF. Thank you.

RIP Jay Forbes. He started the petition to get the section of the 401 named Highway of Heroes. He had recently joined the navy. He was 30.

This is my favourite song ever. My Great grandfather fought in WWII. I believe he was part of the battle in Holland. I always enjoyed listening to his stories (Although they were very sad) But it was always quite hard to understand him since he mumbled a lot. He never really wanted to go to war, but his friend convinced him to sign up, but then turns out his friend had flat feet, and was unable to go. I am VERY proud of my Grandfather, and I would like to follow in his footsteps for the future :)

I was just in Ottawa this past weekend to a good friend of mine, and we were playing this song on his iPod.and the next day we drove past the Parliament Buildings and the war memorial in downtown Ottawa, and all i was thinking about was Cpl Nathan Cirillo along with humming the chorus of this song. It was a touching moment for me and i just want to say that I am sorry for your loss to all the people who have lost loved ones. #restinpiece #truenorthstrongandfree #RIP

The first time I ever heard this song it was on the radio in the car when i was driving between Kingston and Gananoque on the 401, I didnt know at that time that that was the day that Cpl Nathan Cirillo was being transported from Ottawa home to Hamilton, I knew something was going on because of all the cars lining the shoulder and the overpasses and shortly after this song came on i saw the cop cars and hearse pass me going the other way and i became overwhelmed with emotion. Such a beautiful song with so much emotion behind it. Thank you to anyone who has ever served this great county.

A day after Sergeant Andrew Doiron was brought home from Iraq on the #HighwayofHeroes it is fitting to share this video, as many people still don't know what the Highway of Heroes is.. but they have seen the sign. Please share widely #CdnRepat

Gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. Playing again today, for Sgt. Andrew Doironn. Rest in Peace and thank you for your service to Canada.

As an American serving in the forces, this song hits me most. Rest Easy Nichola Goddard, as well as everyone else fallen in the line of duty. When one signs a contract for enlistment, they write a blank check to their nation for up to, and including, their life.

Are these guys serious? Do they really believe that professional armed forces are heroes? An increasing number of individuals view the military as uneducated, conditioned, violent psychopaths, puppets of the corporate state, if you like. An interesting idea, for sure.
