THE TIME LAPSE - "It's Child's Play" EP (Sneaky Pete 391001) 1988
I don't know anything about The Timelapse at all and this EP is the only record of their's that I've got in my collection. They could be from Germany, does anyone know for sure?
They released a couple of albums on Smarten-Up Records after this EP. Don't know if they're in the same kinda mod psych sound that they're going for on this.
Seems like The Timelapse have a huge John's Children fixation. The cover of 'Desdemona' is excellent without any hint of the unsavoury mid/late 80s production that spoils so many records from this time frame....

Ooops.... forgot to mention, there is a second 45, "Functional Sounds", which is pretty good. And, I just put in a quick google search and found a myspace link which has two unreleased songs on it!9 years ago

Yep.... they were a German band. Their first LP, "Timelapse Now", is along the same lines including, "How Does It Feel (To Feel)", by the Creation and "Desdemona and Arthur Green" by John's Children.The second LP. "Desintegration Machine Strikes" is a bit heavier and manic. Not as good IMO. Hope that's useful for ya?10 years ago
