The Thompson Twins were a British pop group that were formed in April 1977 and disbanded in May 1993.

They achieved considerable popularity in the mid 1980s, scoring a string of hits in the UK, the US and around the globe.

The band was named after the two bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson in Hergé's comic strip, The Adventures of Tintin.

A predominately synthpop trio, they were joined on stage at Live Aid by Madonna and were at the forefront of the second, so-called, British Invasion.

I remember this, It sounded that shitty in person too. The only ones that had a stitch of talent up there were Nile and Steve..and you could not hear either one of them. Oh well. Its still history

This was one of the most horrendous performances of Live Aid. Thompson Twins singer had an creepy voice on this one. And sounded crude and off key. Way out of character for this band.

After that performance at I was just completely slack-jawed, to the point that my friend asked me if I was all right. All I could say was "I... I... I Can't believe what I just saw." One of four Lennon songs that day, and you know he would have been there to sing some himself is he was still alive.
