From the album "Believe". (1970) A great power trio from Detroit. They warmed up for acts such as Genesis, Procol Harum and John Mayall. Guitarist Drew Abbott went on to become the guitar player for Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band.

There was a super loud band that was playing at St Thomas Aquinas High in Southgate, Mi and their Decibel level was compared to that of a new aircraft that just came out in 1970. The DC-10. GOD Bless Third Power!!! Enjoyed the hell out of them. Seger played there along with SRC and Tackle Box and everyone who was anyone in DEEtroit. Alice Cooper played there swingin' his Chicken. Those were great times.

Comin' Home - The Third Power [Detroit, Michigan] - 1970 - "They sure sounds like Cream at times on this song." - Believe [Digitally Remastered] (Relics)-2010. NOTE: Their only album is considered one of the lost classics not known outside the Detroit area, and it's a shame because it date-stamps 1970 so well.

@TheBabyboomkidof53 The Birmingham Palladium is the place I was referring to in the previous post. It was a great place to see and hear bands, as you could get real close to the action. Alice Cooper, Rod Stewart and Faces, Bob Segar are some of the bands I remember seeing.

@iwontthinkofaname I picked up a hitchhiker on my way to Chicago back in the day.... it turned out to be the drummer for 3rd Power... I was amazed to have a "celeb" in the car.... I'm glad he made it to the show, even if he was little late.

Saw these guys many times and they were always great. Once in Birmingham Mi. they started the set without the drummer, mid way thru he shows up. Still, lots of good memories of this band.
