From 'The Edges of Twilight' - The Tea Party at the height of their majesty. Gentle, Appalachian/bluegrassy twinged song from what I consider one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

The intro is identical to John Renbourn's «The Hermit».

He wrote this in the passes of British Columbia and Alberta actually. And Fire in the Head's about taking some crazy ass drugs. That's what he told us at a concert. Excellent songs, this man is guitar. Amazing musician.

I seen the Tea Party in concert numerous times. When they toured for this album it just blew me away. Jeff played a wack load of different instruments amazingly. Such passion & soul in his voice. Where did this type of music go? RIP music

I havent heard The Armada but I am open to their vast range of styles. The kind of electric goth period was not of my taste, mostly because I found that their talent and subtle styling was lost.

edges of twilight is also my fave album, and I agree the musical alchemy this band offered its listeners is much like a shaman. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to hear them in a small setting and watch them play such incredible instruments from around the world.

@taxthyass Mantra I actually quite liked...Triptych was a bit hit and miss, some damn killer songs (Halcyon Days for example is one of my all time favorite TP songs ever)...but I thought they actually did a hell of a job recapturing their older sound with Interzone, it seemed like a perfect middle ground between Edges and Transmission. Seven Circles was a major disappointment after that...it has it's strong points (Luxuria for example, kicks ass) but never lived up to Interzone's promise

Most of the videos for the album: Edges Of Twilight are creepy, but in my opinion, EOT is THE BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME!

@veedub87 I don't know if I'd say "under the radar", at least where I grew up (city called Brantford about 4 or 5 hours away from Ottawa Ontario) they were HUGE during their first few albums. Edges was a radio staple for years, I still hear The Bazaar and Sister Awake on there every now and again. They never really broke the US market, but then Jeff Martin once said "I've lived in the US, if I heard us being played on US radio I'd be wondering 'what the hell are we doing wrong?'"

@ravenmalik One of Canada's premiere musical artists... He wrote all of The Tea Party's music, composed the lyrics, produced and was the sole guitarist, using many, many stringed instruments in their recordings. And, as veedub87 stated...

@daviddowns81 Honestly I'd, without any hesitation, put Edges up there with some of the greats like Led Zeppelin 4 or Paranoid...it's one of the unsung great albums of music. just imho mind you :)
