An electrifying version of the hymn Pass Me Not, Oh Gentle Saviour. I think that it was recorded about 1960. The lead singer, West Virginia's Claude Jeter, was surely an influence on Al Green.

This record featured on the movie The Big Easy, which was strange because the rest of the soundtrack was by Louisiana artists. Good choice all the same.

Since I was 14 years old in 1955 I have enjoyed the Swan Silvertones (THE BEST) along with The Soul Stirrers, Five Blind Boys, The Harmonizing Four, The Dixie Hummingbirds, and many, many others. I am an North Carolina old white boy who loves to be stirred in my soul. Thanks Jeter and all the old groups, Robert Boggs - Marion, NC

Sometimes we have to go into the enemy's camp and take back what he stole from us.  The Swan Silvertones are not playing any games especially on this album!!  They are about their Father's business.!!
