Take this on vinyl, play it at 33rpm.... increase the speed on your Technics and then listen again.

I would have been happy if the roses had went in this direction if the band hasn't split. Everybody is brilliant here including brownie.

Apparently this song and Moses were the last 2 tracks that the classic Roses line-up recorded before Reni left.

Well there you go, I liked Begging You and Tightrope but always felt that Ian Brown's voice couldn't pull of Tears.

Music comes from the heart and soul, not from A levels

@vincentinogitash True perfection has to be imperfect. To be honest, I can't hear the poor mastering, but I've only got an A level in Music Tech.

It's incredible how this track and Moses are on the same single... they are so different from the A-Side Ten Storey Love Song!! Love each of them: 3 great, GREAT songs!!

Love this tune - genuinely one of my favourites by The Roses. Bit of 2nd Coming bashing going on in this thread which confuses the sh*t out of me! :-/ Straight to the Man, Begging You and Tightrope are all pretty naff - but there's some sensational tunes on there! Tears being the obvious choice for me likes. The 2nd Coming is clearly the result of John Squire having more say in how the songs were put together - though it was a bit confusing that his solo records were so tame and not rocking!

@me19276 Exactly, imperfection is perfection, although the Stone roses do come pretty close to perfection for me.

I bought this single in 1995, still have it somewhere. This track is better than much of what's on The Second Coming.

@MrThreshold2009 whoa, Good Times is a great track. The music is excellent and the lyrics are no more cliche than other lyrics on the album, ie Driving South. Second Coming is bad ass from start to finish. Its not Shakespeare, its an indulgent good time.
